Chiến tranh Iraq (20/3/2003[35][36] - 19/8/2010[37]), mà chính quyền Hoa Kỳ gọi là Chiến dịch Đất nước Iraq Tự do[38], là một cuộc chiến tranh tại Iraq giữa một bên là Lực lượng Đa Quốc gia do Hoa Kỳ dẫn đầu với một bên là chính quyền Saddam Hussein (ban đầu) và các lực lượng nổi dậy (về sau). Lực lượng Đa Quốc gia đã lật đổ được chính quyền của Saddam Hussein. Tuy nhiên, các lực lượng nổi dậy vẫn chưa được trấn áp hoàn toàn, khiến cho mặc dù Tổng thống Hoa Kỳ đã tuyên bố rút hết quân chính quân và kết thúc chiến tranh nhưng vẫn phải để lại gần 50 vạn nhân viên quân sự[cần dẫn nguồn] dưới tư cách cố vấn quân sự cho chính quyền Iraq mới. Trong thời gian từ năm 2005 đến 2007, các hoạt động thăm dò dư luận đã cho thấy rằng đại đa số người Iraq phản đối cuộc xâm lược này của Hoa Kỳ.[39][40][41]
