Balaena là một chi cá voi trong họ Balaenidae. Chi Balaena thường được xem như là một chi đơn loài, vì hiện tại chỉ còn duy nhất loài B. mysticetus còn tồn tại, được mô tả lần đầu vào năm 1758 bởi Linnaeus.[2]
