• English: Confucius was born in the year 551 B.C.E., in Qufu, China. He was worshipped posthumously, until he was named "Supreme God" in China. & several temples are dedicated to him, in the major Chinese and Far Eastern cities, on the model of that of Qufu. Confucianism has had a strong impact on the culture, & ethics, & psychology of Chinese & other peoples in neighboring countries, including Vietnam, & Confucius was honored as "the Teacher of 10,000 generations". The Temple of Literature in Hanoi was erected in C.E.1070 by the Ly sovereigns on this model, & a National Academy was added to the Temple in C.E.1076, & it was transformed into a National College which remained in Hanoi until C.E.1807 when it was transferred to Hue, & partly destroyed by the War, the Temple was rebuilt in C.E.1954.
