Nó là sự pha trộn ngôn ngữ tốt: tiếng Việt, tiếng Pháp, tiếng Hòa-Lan và tiếng Anh (tiếng Anh, tại sao?). Tôi đề nghị rằng chúng ta nên dùng những tên Việt nếu có, và tên địa phương nếu không. Nó có nghĩ là bảng trở thành:

• Brabant Fla-măng (hoặc Brabant Flăng-drơ...)

David - La Belgique est Bỉ dans la langue vietnamiennne, il y a beaucoup des précédents historiques pour ça. Mais de ... Flandre à Flăng-đrơ, Flamands à Fla-măng, Bruxelles à Bru-xen ... y a-t-il des précédents pour ce cas ? (La réponse est NON.)

Deuxièmement, si Flandre → Flăng-đrơ, pourquoi pas Vlaanderen → Vlăng-đơ ?

Et dernièrement, Luxembourg est Lục Xâm Bảo, si vous voulez l'employer.

Oké, je suis d'accord qu'il ne peut y avoir beaucoup de précédents pour Flăng-đrơ et Bru-xen, mais il faut admettre que la Belgique n'est probablement pas un sujet qu'on rencontre fréquemment en Vietnamien. En tous cas, ici entre autres on en parle, et j'ai l'impression que ce ne soit pas un site web de rien du tout car je le rencontre chaque fois que je cherche quoi que ce soit. On y parle de Li-e (Liège, je présume) et de Mi-sen Mơ-rít-xơ (qui que ce soit). Je ne dit pas que nous, on dois faire la même chose...

Si je vous comprends bien, d'après vous, on devrait employer Vlaanderen et Wallonie... Aucun problème pour moi, mieux ça que des noms anglais. Ça serait comme si l'on parlait du nước Verenigde Staten. (Ce serait bien pour moi, remarque...) Mais pour Bruxelles il faudra choisir entre Brussel et Bruxelles, la ville étant officiellement bilingue. Quoi qu'on choisisse, la moitié de la Belgique sera outragée (s'ils apprennent), donc là, je crois que la seule possibilité soit une vietnamisation. Il y a Brúc-xen qui, que je sache, donne le plus de résultats avec Google ([1]). Ce qu'on fera avec les banlieues (bilingues elles aussi), je n'en sais rien.

OK David, pls. allow me to answer your last question first -- I wrote in French since you seemed to wonder about the appropriateness of using English-based names in an article about Belgium. I agreed with you, since an overwhelming amount of place names in Belgium are either Dutch or French. To show that agreement I wrote in French, unless you want to see me butchering the Dutch language! (I've done enough of language butchering lately in this community already, please.)

As for names of cities, or places, where they use more than one because of their official bilingualism (or multilingualism), I suggest to cite both versions -- after all, they want to be known by both names. When I wrote the article for the city of Montréal in Canada, I used both Montréal (French) and Montreal (English) because I know that the majority of people living there know that city by both those official names. And by doing that, I met the demands from both Anglophone and Francophone communities there.

Using the same idea, I think Vlaanderen should be the preferred choice and you may add Flandre next to it. The same thing with Wallonie. These are proper names, I see no good reasons to change them. Would you like me to address you as Δάωίδ?

However, there are several well established place names in the Viêt language, such as Bỉ and Lục Xâm Bảo, that we can use. These names have been around for 100 years at least, neither you nor I invent them in order to meet some deadlines.

I have no ideas (and personally flabbergasted) why the editorial board of the Nhân Dân decided to use Li-e for Liège and, like you, I'm pulling my hair guessing at Mi-sen Mơ-rít-xơ! (Michelle Morris, the name of one of my ex-girlfriends, perhaps?) I, therefore, cannot explain why they do it.

Okay, I agree with you on all that. I'll change it all right now. As for you calling me Δάωίδ, that's no problem to me. It's a Hebrew name anyway, and here in Belgium it's pronounced in innummerable different ways – in Dutch, in French, in any regional dialect – and add to that all the Russian friends of my parents'...
