O BRASÃO é dividido em 03 partes representando as antigas denominações da cidade (Urubu de baixo, Urubu de cima e Curral falso); UMA CANOA DE TOLDA (transporte existente na época) se encontra no centro do Brasão, representa o fluxo comercial por todo Baixo São Francisco; DUAS CHAMINÉS simbolizando as fábricas de beneficiamento de arroz; 5 ESTRELAS DO CRUZEIRO DO SUL representando os cinco povoados do município (São Miguel, Santa Cruz, Boa Esperança, Coité e São Vicente); A PONTE do município com seus arcos; COROA MURAL prateada com cinco torres representando uma cidade; dois RAMOS DE ARROZ à destra e à sinistra; divisa com os dizeres “Propriá 07-02-1802 Sergipe” data de emancipação da cidade.
