Trametes là một giới nấm that is distinguished by a pileate basidiocarp, di- to trimitic hyphal systems, smooth non-dextrinoid spores, and a hymenium usually without true hymenial cystidia.[1] Giới này bao gồm khoảng 50 loài.[2] Giới được Elias Magnus Fries mô tả lần đầu vào năm 1835.
Nấm Trametes là thức ăn cho sâu bướm Lepidoptera, chủ yếu là các loại sâu bướm nấm (Tineidae) như Triaxomera parasitella.
