3640 Gostin (1985 TR3) là một tiểu hành tinh vành đai chính được phát hiện ngày 11 tháng 10, 1985 bởi Shoemaker, C. và Shoemaker, E. ở Palomar.
Nó được đặt theo tên geologist Victor A. Gostin[1] of the University of Adelaide, who in the 1980s discovered the ejecta layer from the Acraman bolide impact ở a distance of 300 km from the impact site, within Ediacaran sedimentary rocks of the Flinders Ranges, South Australia, which enabled the impact to be dated ở ~580 Ma.[2]
