Sinh vật mô hình

Động vật mô hình là các loài vật ngoài con người dùng trong các ngành nghiên cứu liên quan đến sinh học, với mục đích chính là các phát hiện dựa trên các mô hình này có thể dùng làm nền tảng cho các loài khác, và con người.[1][2]
Hiện nay, ruồi giấm thường (drosophila melanogaster), vi khuẩn E.coli, hoa Arabidopsis thaliana, nấm Saccharomyces cereviciae, chuột bạch là các mô hình thông dụng nhất.[3]
