English: Piaśnica (Groß Piasnitz) in the Darzlubska Wilderness - place of the one of the greatest nazi crimes in Polish Pomerania. Polish convicts before the execution. The picture was taken by Waldemar Engler - volksdeutscher from Wejherowo and member of the SS (he was photographer in civilian life) Prints of photos that he made in Piaśnica were stolen by his Polish workers.
Polski: Piaśnica. Skazańcy oczekujący na egzekucję. Zdjęcie wykonał Waldemar Engler - volksdeutsch z Wejherowa, a zarazem członek SS (w cywilu fotograf). Odbitki zdjęć, które wykonał w Piaśnicy zostały wykradzione przez jego polskich pracowników.

This work is in the public domain in the United States because it meets three requirements:

  1. it was first published outside the United States (and not published in the U.S. within 30 days),
  2. it was first published before 1 March 1989 without copyright notice or before 1964 without copyright renewal or before the source country established copyright relations with the United States,
  3. it was in the public domain in its home country (Poland) on the URAA date (1 January 1996).
