English: Photo of iconic watercolour from 1885 "The Newspaper Seller" (Private Collection of Dam de Nogales), symbolic of the resilience, resoluteness, solidarity, tolerance of the catalan people in 1885. The wooden newspaper box is overflowing with new independent newspapers. The weathered man, with a tired look, grips firmly the leather strap. The other hand paints to words, the ideology. An umbrella is strapped to his back and a scarf wrapped tight in preparation for the storm. One hand grips tightly, the leather strap, unwilling to let go. The red barretina is worn proudly. The first newspaper kiosk was not placed on the los Ramblas until three years later. Iconic Watercolour artwork representing the basic struggles of the Catalan People in the late 19th century as the Modernism took hold of Barcelona and Catalunya, a time of great and sudden and often heralded change that pushed Barcelona forward as another Art Capital of Europe.

Una mano agarra con fuerza la correa de cuero, sin querer soltarla. La barretina roja se lleva con orgullo.
