ALMA RESORT CAM RANH

[sửa | sửa mã nguồn]

Alma Resort Cam Ranh is an independently owned and operated five-star resort located in on Cam Ranh peninsula in Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam. Opened in December 2019, Alma Resort is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, who represent independent resorts around the world.

The 30-hectare resort overlooks Cam Ranh’s Long Beach (Bai Dai Beach), where sampans and coracles ply the waters and islands loom offshore. An up-and-coming destination, Cam Ranh is renowned for its pristine beaches and weather, which averages more than 300 sunny days per year. Nearby attractions include beach city Nha Trang, nature reserves, islands and local golf courses.

Conde Nast Traveler singled out Cam Ranh as among the ‘Best places to travel’ in May 2018. Nha Trang Bay has twice been recognized as one of the world’s most beautiful bays by Travel + Leisure magazine.

Situated eight kilometres north of Cam Ranh International Airport, Alma is easily accessible for domestic and international guests. Cam Ranh International Airport welcomes direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City (a 60-minute flight), Hanoi (a 90-minute flight) and Danang (a 50-minute flight) as well as international flights from countries including China, Malaysia, Russia, South Korea and Thailand.

Architecture and facilities

Ong & Ong, Ara Design and Intaran Design are responsible for Alma’s architectural design, interior design and landscape design respectively.

As a complement to Cam Ranh’s waters and headlands, Alma’s design sets a contemporary tone with a neutral palette of whites, earthy colours and soft blues, accentuated with modern yet minimalist decor. Floor-to-roof glass panels usher in plenty of natural light in the resort’s 580 accommodations that all afford views of Long Beach.

The 196-pavilion and 384-suite resort’s nine categories of accommodations include one-, two- and three-bedroom ocean view suites spanning 71, 114 and 165sqm respectively, and the two- and three-bedroom ocean view and ocean front pavilions ranging from 144 to 224sqm. All suites and villas feature master bedrooms with soaking bathtubs and separate rainwater showers, spacious living rooms with large sofas, kitchens and dining areas. The three-bedroom pavilions and two-bedroom ground floor pavilions boast private swimming pools, and the two-bedroom upper floor pavilions feature private jacuzzis. Inland from the villas, the suites are housed in two V-shaped towers, offering panoramic sea views.  The accommodations are well suited to multigenerational travel.

The integrated resort’s host of facilities include a cascade of 12 beachfront swimming pools, 14 food and beverage outlets, a science museum, waterpark, 13-treatment room spa, art gallery, cinema, convention centre, amphitheatre, youth centre with virtual reality games, kid’s club, water sports centre, gymnasium and yoga room, an 18-hole putting green, five sound-proof karaoke rooms, a mini supermarket and more.

The 12 pools cascading down to the beach include a 75-metre beachfront pool for laps and an adults-only pool. A lazy river runs through Alma’s 6000sqm Splash Water Park, which also features a wave pool, kid’s pool, water slides, and two American-style food trucks.

Adjacent to a huge kids-only pool with fountains and water games, the Kids’ Club is home to trampolines, ball pens, climbing frames and arts and crafts. The Active Youth Club for teens has virtual reality games, table football and billiards tables.

One of the first of its kind in Vietnam, the Science Museum promotes interactive learning through exhibits focused on discoveries that changed the world such as electricity generation, moving images, magnetic fields, pulley systems and more.

Seating 400, Alma Amphitheater hosts live concerts and cultural shows. Standing alone from the resort’s main area but still within easy reach of its facilities, the Alma Convention Center is comparable to convention centres found in major cities around the world. Catering to multiple-day conventions, weddings, exhibitions, gala dinners, banquets and product launches, the complex includes a 300-guest ballroom that can be partitioned into three smaller rooms, a collection of meeting rooms, a lobby bar and reception areas, as well as exclusive parking and access away from the resort entrance to allow for simple and prompt arrivals and departures. A 70-seat cinema, complete with a popcorn concession, airs three films daily, and the art gallery sells works by local artists and holds art classes.

Sporting facilities include a water sports centre offering pursuits such as kayaking and bodyboarding, a beachfront football field, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, an outdoor archery range, 18-hole putting green, open-air exercise stations and giant chess board.

Restaurants and bars

Alma’s 14 food and beverage venues range from outlets casual enough for gourmet burgers to establishments refined enough for a grand piano. Alma Garden beats at the heart of the resort with live cooking stations that evoke a marketplace atmosphere. Asiana brings modern Asian cuisine to Cam Ranh and Atlantis, with its vast deck for al fresco dining that sits above Alma’s strand, specialises in fresh local seafood. Serving evening meals in Tuscan style direct from its open kitchen, the Italian trattoria La Casa prepares a wide selection of classic Italian dishes. Alma Food Court is a culinary hub with six different food outlets, including An Nam selling classics from Vietnam’s south to north, an American style food truck called Burger House offering gourmet burgers, Chicken ‘n Go serving up chicken cooked in a Henny Penny fryer, gelato ice creamery Three Scoops, the French Bakery and Espresso Bar serving coffee, tea and freshly squeezed juice. The resort’s bar landscape comprises Alma Lounge, American Bar, Pool Bar and Beach Bar.

Alma’s general manager is Herbert Laubichler-Pichler, an Austrian hospitality veteran with life-long experience including more than a decade in Vietnam managing three of the country’s most acclaimed hotels.

The resort’s culinary landscape is overseen by executive chef Ingo Stöneberg, a German national who manages a team of more than 120 chefs and 40 kitchen porters. He has worked for five-star hotels including the Hilton Hotel in Abu Dhabi and Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. He was part of the pre-opening teams for Jumeirah at Etihad Towers and for Starwood Hotels and Resorts at The Romanos, A Luxury Collection Resort, and The Westin Resort in Costa Navarino, Messinia, Greece.

In his role as commercial director of Alma, Martin Koerner is responsible for positioning the resort on a consistent growth trajectory, and will oversee sales, marketing, public relations, distribution, and reservations. Before his appointment at Alma, he was the group director of sales, marketing and distribution at The Anam, another five-star resort in Cam Ranh.
