Thông tin trên Wikipedia bắt buộc phải đạt một số tiêu chuẩn về nguồn thông tin, cách hành văn trung lập và độ nổi bật. Điều này có nghĩa là ngoài việc viết bài với nội dung khách quan công bằng, không quảng cáo, tâng bốc và cũng không nói xấu, dèm pha đối tượng, bạn còn phải dẫn nguồn thông tin báo chí hay sách vở nói về đối tượng để khẳng định là bạn "nói có sách mách có chứng". Nếu không đưa nguồn thông tin vào bài viết hoặc viết với văn phong quảng cáo tâng bốc PR, bài viết sẽ được coi là không đạt tiêu chuẩn và sẽ bị xóa nhanh. Bạn cũng có thể tập sửa đổi các bài viết sẵn có bằng cách tìm đến các bài trong module "Các sửa đổi gợi ý" trên trang nhà người mới hoặc trong phần "Cải thiện nội dung" trên Trang Chính.
Trang hiện đang xuất hiện trên màn hình của bạn thực chất là trang thảo luận thành viên của riêng bạn. Các thành viên khác cũng có trang tương tự như vậy và bạn có thể liên hệ với họ khi cần thiết. Sau khi kết thúc cuộc thảo luận, bạn cần ký tên để mọi người biết ai đang thảo luận với họ, hãy sử dụng bốn dấu ngã (~~~~) hay biểu tượng 
trên thanh sửa đổi, thao tác này sẽ giúp bạn tự động ghi ra tên và ngày giờ thảo luận, tuy nhiên không được phép ký tên vào bài viết. Tất cả những sửa đổi của bạn sẽ được lưu giữ trong lịch sử trang và mọi người đều biết bạn đang làm gì qua trang Thay đổi gần đây.
