Clathurellidae là một họ ốc biển đơn ngành có kích cỡ từ nhỏ đến vừa trong liên họ Conoidea.[1][2] Theo Taxonomy of the Gastropoda (Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005)[3], chúng được đặt là phân họ Clathurellinae trong họ ốc Conidae.[3]. Vào năm 2011 Bouchet, Kantor et al.[1] đã tách vài chi trong phân họ Clathurellinae để lập thành họ mới Clathurellidae.[1]
