Xenoturbellida là một phân ngành trong ngành Xenacoelomorpha. Nó chứa một số lượng nhỏ các loài giống giun đáy biển.[3]

Loài đầu tiên được biết đến là Xenoturbella bocki được phát hiện vào năm 1915 bởi Sixten Bock, nhưng nó chỉ được miêu tả chính xác vào năm 1949 bởi Einar Westblad.[4]

Giải phẫu học

Hệ thần kinh bao gồm một mạng lưới các tế bào thần kinh liên kết với nhau bên dưới lớp biểu bì, không có sự tập hợp của tế bào thần kinh nào để tạo thành hạch thần kinh hoặc dây thần kinh.[5][6]
