Vietnamese grammar[sửa mã nguồn]
Just a small note - In Vietnamese the modifier follows the subject instead of preceding it as in English and Chinese. Thus "English discussion" becomes Thảo luận tiếng Anh (discussion English) instead of Tiếng Anh thảo luận. Have a nice day :-). Nguyễn Hữu Dụng 16:36, ngày 03 tháng 2 năm 2006 (UTC)

Hm, I guess it sounds close, but it could literally mean "a jumble of chess pieces" or "a classification of roots". I'm not at all familiar with Chinese characters, but someone who knows Vietnamese and has a lot of time could scour Tự Điển Thiều Chửu for characters that would work. (There's an Âm Hán Việt tool there.) I don't think it has exclusively Nôm characters, though. Some characters that could be of use:
- 蔚 úy, uất (15n) – prosperous (but also means gloomy?)
- 餵 ủy (17n) – to raise, nurture (perhaps to nurture knowledge, if we can find a good companion for this character)

Okay, the "Collection of Precious Things" encyclopedia sounds good. I'd say go ahead and put that on the chữ Nôm test wiki. For an initial sound, though, it'd be even better to have a character that's pronounced huy (/hwi˦/ in IPA), since huy hoàng apparently means "magnificent". (Hủy means to destroy, so unless we can find a companion that means "ignorance", that's not the way to go. Húy apparently means "forbidden name", so that doesn't work either.) The closest initial syllable I can find is 鬩, which is pronounced huých (/hwik˦˥/) or huỵch (/hwik˧˨/). The Thiều Chửu dictionary says it means "to argue", which aptly describes this place at times... :^) – Nguyễn Xuân Minh (thảo luận, đóng góp) 10:19, ngày 28 tháng 2 năm 2007 (UTC)
