Nagorno-Karabakh là vùng đất không giáp biển tại Nam Caucasus, nằm giữa hạ Karabakh và Zangezur và bao phủ khu vực phía đông nam của núi Lesser Caucasus. Vùng này hầu hết là đồi núi và rừng và có diện tích 8.223 kilômét vuông (3.175 sq mi).
Phần lớn khu vực này do Cộng hòa Nagorno-Karabakh quản lý, một quốc gia chưa được công nhận, và là một quốc gia độc lập de facto (trên thực tế) thành lập từ một phần lãnh thổ của Cộng hòa xã hội chủ nghĩa Xô viết Azerbaijan thuộc Liên Xô. Lãnh thổ này được cộng đồng quốc tế xem là một phần của Azerbaijan, nhưng Azerbaijan chưa triển khai quyền lực trên phần lớn lãnh thổ này từ năm 1991. Sau khi kết thúc Chiến tranh Nagorno-Karabakh năm 1994, đại diện chính phủ Armenia và Azerbaijan đã tiến hành đàm phán hòa bình về tình trạng của khu vực.
